Innovative Change Processes for Building Powerful Teams

General Aim: Explore ways to improve the communication and relationships between hospital management and nursing team members.

 

Specific Aims:

   To demonstrate a powerful model for negotiation between management and teams

    To demonstrate tools that explore individuals’ beliefs, perceptions and values

    To provide tools that build personal power and have the potential to extinguish horizontal violence at work

     To explore the `language’ and action of mutual support

    Outline of Programme:

             Understanding the `What’, `Who’, `How’ and `Needs’ of: patients, management
       and nurses

            Tools for exploring each other’s perceptions, values and beliefs and needs.

            Tools for developing effective relationships

            A simple model for reaching agreement

            Determining Future Behaviour

 

  Processes and Tools:


The presentation will employ a variety of teaching processes including the use of metaphor, role play, didactic teaching with audience involvement, on stage demonstrations and power point summaries.
